Abstract
The present thematic issue addresses the main methods for preparing nanopowders, and the potential interactions (detrimental or beneficial) of these materials with the human being. As a background, the definition of nanoparticles is here discussed, and some specific properties (magnetic, optical, mechanical, chemical) are presented.
Le présent numéro thématique décrit les principales méthodes de préparation des nanopoudres et les effets potentiels (positifs ou négatifs) de ces matériaux sur l’être humain. Pour mettre ces contributions en perspective, nous discutons de la définition d’une nanoparticule, et nous présentons quelques propriétés spécifiques des nanopoudres (propriétés magnétiques, optiques, mécaniques, chimiques).
